Source: Hits:2375 Date:2023-08-11

Collection name: Fangge Kiln Bowl

Collection period: Ming Dynasty

Collection size: 9.6cm high, 26.7cm mouth, 10cm bottom

This collection has been designated as a national level three cultural relic. Porcelain, with complete appearance, open mouth, deep curved belly, and rounded feet. The glaze color is as pink as jade, without a "purple mouth" but with "iron feet". The size of the opening is arranged in a staggered manner, and the "gold wire and iron thread" is hidden inside. The opening pattern on the inner wall is slightly larger, followed by the outer wall. The bowl center and ring feet have fine and fragmented internal patterns, which well imitates the characteristics of the opening of the glaze surface of Ge kiln porcelain. It is a successful work imitating Ge kiln in the Ming Dynasty.

Ge Kiln is one of the five famous kilns of the Song Dynasty, on par with Ru, Guan, Ding, and Jun kilns. It is an official kiln porcelain fired for the court and has always been precious. Ge kiln tires are mostly purple black, iron black, and also have a yellow brown color. The glaze is opaque and opaque, with a layer of crispy light on the surface. The glaze color is commonly seen in fried rice yellow and gray blue, and the size of the glaze is combined with patterns. One of the main features of Ge Kiln is that after dyeing, the large stripes are dark brown, while the small stripes are yellow brown, also known as "gold wire and iron wire". There are various types of bottles, stoves, washes, bowls, dishes, and so on. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, the five famous kilns were highly revered, and therefore all were imitated. However, generally, only the glaze color of Song Dynasty artifacts was emphasized, rather than their shape.
